March 22, 2009 Sunday Recap Six

The first three photographs were taken five days before the big Spring Race at Bristol. Not all the activity going on at the track is visible in the photos. There were delivery trucks coming and going, RV drivers searching for a choice camping spot in the nearby fields, and maintenance vehicles scurrying about. On Sunday thousands of fans will pack the stadium.

Many of the fields where fans park their RV's are on this highway. The highway was not busy this time of day so we were able to pull over on the wide shoulder of the road to grab a few photos. The camping fields are behind me. The drag strip is on the right, out of the frame in the picture.

Tracy, the bobcat, is dozing on this Spring afternoon. She is a resident at a wildlife sanctuary where I occasionally work. She is sweet, sassy, and full of attitude!

This is Sasha, a Great Horned Owl, who lives at the sanctuary.

The colours of this Killdeer blend well with it's surroundings. A pair of them hang out in the empty field next to the electric company when they're not near the local dollar store!
